Enjoy independent living plus the support you (may) need – often for less than the cost of assisted living.

What if you could maintain your independent lifestyle while knowing access to many of the same care services found at an assisted living community was available nearby – all for a potentially lower monthly cost? At Holiday by Atria, it’s possible.

Independent living communities like Holiday are designed for older adults who can live on their own with minimal support. While Holiday doesn’t provide or administer care, we do offer a safe, social, maintenance-free lifestyle with a wide range of “a la carte” care services accessible through third-party providers, often located onsite.

By choosing your own care providers, you only pay for the services you need. And, you can usually receive support like physical and occupational therapies without leaving the community. This approach offers a living option that evolves with your needs to help you age in place comfortably, without the need to move again should your health situation change.

The advantages of independent living at Holiday

Customized “a la carte” care services

Holiday does not arrange for or provide care services. However, through partnerships with third-party providers, often located onsite, residents enjoy access to a wide range of services without having to leave the community. Residents are also free to choose their own outside care provider.

Third-party care services available vary by location. Find a Holiday community near you to see which providers are available onsite or nearby.

Non-clinical care

Often called personal care, custodial care or homemaker services.

  • Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) like bathing and getting dressed
  • Escorting to and from meals and activities
  • Medication reminders
  • Wellness/safety checks
  • Incontinence support

Skilled medical care

Medical services provided to treat a chronic condition or to recover from illness, injury or surgery.

  • Skilled nursing
  • Rehabilitation care
  • Medication management
  • Psychiatric therapy
  • Wound care
  • Pain management
  • Infusion therapy
  • Medical social work

Physical, occupational and speech therapies

Professionals focused on helping a person regain their mobility, the ability to conduct daily activities independently and communicate effectively.

Personal control and independence

At Holiday, our primary goal is to help older adults live independently, longer. We do that in part by making services such as physical and occupational therapy available onsite from third-party providers.

By hiring such services, Holiday residents can regain or maintain their strength and mobility after a hospital stay or illness, for example, and discontinue services once they’re back on their feet.

Residents decide who provides what support, when, and at what cost. They can switch caregivers and add or subtract services, putting them in the driver’s seat of their health and well-being.

Safety and security

The family home is familiar but may not be the safest option as you age. Climbing stairs, getting in and out of the bathtub and navigating doorways using a walker or wheelchair may become difficult.

In addition to welcoming third-party care providers, Holiday independent living communities are purposefully created to make life safer and more comfortable for older adults. Features include:

  • 24/7 emergency medical and personal support through the Lively Mobile Plus device
  • Elevators
  • Spacious, wheelchair-accessible apartments and common spaces
  • Step-in showers with grab bars
  • Slip-proof flooring
  • Smoke alarms and sprinkler systems
  • Locked mailboxes
  • Accessible door handles and cabinet pulls

Social connection

At Holiday, there’s a friendly face around every corner. Independent living offers a vibrant social setting with daily opportunities to connect and engage, from sharing meals to joining scheduled group activities and events.

After all, having friends and neighbors close by can prevent loneliness and isolation, conditions that increase the risk of a range of physical and mental health issues.

Cost-effective option

Independent living at Holiday offers a safe, social, carefree lifestyle with the option to add customizable “a la carte” care options as needed. Residents pay only for the services they need.

Use our handy cost calculator to find out if independent living at Holiday with optional care services is a better value for you.

As you can see, independent living plus optional care services may provide you with greater value, peace of mind, and a worry-free retirement setting to safely age in place.
